A new measure, based on Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026\/846 published in EUR-Lex on 9 April 2026, brings important changes in anti-dumping (AD) duties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is happening?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>EU reaguje na dlouhodob\u00fd tlak levn\u00e9 oceli ze zahrani\u010d\u00ed, kter\u00e1 podle n\u00ed naru\u0161uje evropsk\u00fd trh. V\u00fdsledkem je v\u00fdrazn\u00e9 zp\u0159\u00edsn\u011bn\u00ed dovozn\u00edch podm\u00ednek \u2013 zejm\u00e9na prost\u0159ednictv\u00edm vy\u0161\u0161\u00edch cel a omezen\u00ed objemu dovozu. Podle aktu\u00e1ln\u00edch informac\u00ed doch\u00e1z\u00ed ke sn\u00ed\u017een\u00ed mno\u017estv\u00ed zbo\u017e\u00ed, kter\u00e9 lze dov\u00e9zt beze cla nebo se sn\u00ed\u017een\u00fdm clem (tj. ke sn\u00ed\u017een\u00ed celn\u00edch kv\u00f3t).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are anti-dumping duties?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Anti-dumping duty is an extra charge applied to goods imported at unfairly low prices. The goal is to protect European producers from cheap foreign competition. Simply put: if steel from outside the EU is too cheap, the EU can add a duty to make its price closer to European products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is changing in practice?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>stricter rules for importing selected types of steel<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>higher anti-dumping duty rates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>more control over imports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>some imports may become too expensive or no longer viable<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does this mean for companies?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>For importers, this mainly means:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>higher costs for steel imports<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>need to carefully check the origin of goods<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>greater focus on correct tariff classification<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>risk of additional duty assessments<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Companies that depend on steel imports should actively respond \u2013 for example by looking for alternative suppliers or improving their customs processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What does this mean for companies?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation may continue to change. We recommend:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>regularly following EU legislation updates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>checking current AD duty rates before each import<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>consulting specific cases with a customs specialist <a href=\"mailto:tarif@zelinka.cz\">tarif@zelinka.cz<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These changes confirm a long-term trend: the EU is increasingly protecting its market and strengthening import controls.
