New EU Regulation – Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)

We are currently in a transitional period, during which importers of specific commodities are required to submit quarterly reports concerning emissions.

The regulation applies to imports from non-EU countries (with certain exceptions) and currently covers the following categories: cement, aluminum, fertilizers, hydrogen, electricity, iron, and steel.

The European Commission plans to expand this list of goods in the future.
